Have you ever faced down a situation that seemed impossible and the likelihood of success seemed bleak that upon finishing this sentence, it would be easier for you to run?

I feel that way often. It’s not a good feeling to have especially in light of where I am in life. But nonetheless, the feeling of dread pervades into the dark, unkempt crevices of my psyche often throwing me for a loop of insecurity and doubt that can only be described as an anguishing mental hell.

“Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things!” (Joel 2:21 ESV)

We need to face our lives fearlessly in remembrance of the “great things” God has done. When we remember the things that God has done for us, we realize that the bleak situation we are staring down now, as we’re backed into a corner is no different than the last time we were on balls of our feet, backing away slowly against the brick wall behind us as the situation grew greater in front of us. The Lord has done great things and when we remember that, we remember God was there for us. God never abandoned us. God did not leave us alone.

What are the great things God has done that you need to remember today?
