Ever face a situation where you knew was impossible but in faith set out to attack it and there was no explanation left but to point at God and say, “He did it.”?
So David and his troops went up to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. God did it! David exclaimed. He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood! So they named that place Baal-perazim (which means the Lord who bursts through). – 1 Chronicles 14:11
The events leading up to this is pretty spectacular. David was being anointed king of Israel after the previous king was deposed through war. At the time he had only begun rallying people to his allegiance and it is clear that the people in his Israel did not all pledge their loyalties to him at the time. It was a country in transition. The previous monarchy was destroyed and a fugitive was now returning home to claim the throne. This was the perfect time for an opportunistic neighboring country to come and acquire territories. David asked God how he could best approach the situation. God said, “I will hand them to you.” David went in faith and became a hero. I want you to recognize that impossible situations are inevitable in what seems like the most inopportune moments of your life. Consult with God, see what He says and then go in faith. When you go in faith, trusting God will do it–because He will–you will witness God bursting through the impossibility. David was no more special than you or I in the eyes of God. He knew what God could do and was able to see it. When you return back to that place of impossibility you will remember it was here that God burst through.
