Remember when you were filled with unbridled passion and vigor? It may have been about your favorite basketball team, or the girl you thought you liked, but it seemed like the world was your oyster because you had passion and vigor. Well, it’s time to go back to those days.
Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord , I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown. (Jeremiah 2:2 ESV)
The reason God remembers those days of passion is because it was in those days you weren’t afraid to have faith. You believed simply because not believing wasn’t an option. It is ludicrous reasoning and logic, but it was the hot fire that burned in your gut that allowed you to push forward to heights you haven’t experieced since then, well, God remembers those days. He wants you to remember those days too. In fact, God wants you to go back to the old days when your passion was for God’s love, mercy and His justice. He wants you to remember the incredibly exhilarating joy you felt when you first accepted him. God wants you to experience life again with the same passion you had at first. He wants you to follow him with that same level of devotion. He wants to take you to places you haven’t been to yet. Those are the old times we all need to long forward to. Don’t reminisce what was, but remember what it felt like and follow God like you once did. I bet it will change your existence.
