Sometimes it is hard to be an authentic Christ follower as life happens. We know what we should do in faith, but at the same time we know the consequences when we do act in faith and they are not always good.

Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. (Revelation 14:12 ESV)

I’ve been a bi-vocational pastor for the past 15 years or so. I live professionally as a pastor and currently as a management consultant to big organizations and government agencies. Through my professional, non pastoral experience, sometimes my faith is put to the test by the work I do. It’s tough walking the line between my faith and wanting to be liked and toeing the company line. Sometimes it smacks me in the face. So I preach with fervor about being authentic and real with my faith knowing full well that it sometimes doesn’t pay off like I hoped.

I want to assure you that it is okay if walking within your faith hits you in the face professionally. It’s not the end. You have faith and you stand by it, endure in your faith in Jesus Christ because you are redeemed by Him. You may be set back, but you will not be defeated. Your faith vindicates your actions and the integrity you had as you endured for so long will pay off. There is an end, and Jesus will be there for it.
