Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God. 1 Peter 1:18-21 MSG Somebody once told me that people need to live more self aware in order to be successful. I actually think I heard it on 30 Rock. Regardless, it is not just a truism. If we were to be more conscious of the actions and decisions we are responsible for then perhaps we would find our lives to be more fulfilling than we currently do. Just imagine your suffering, hardship, or struggle, none of those things would be pointless or unnecessarily painful. All those things would be found to add value to your current life and future endeavors. Let’s look at what Peter writes about this matter: God paid for your life in full and it would not make sense for Him to free your life and then allow senselessness to be a part of that life. This implies, rather this reasons out to be a statement in God’s purpose for every little thing going on in every moment you live, that God wants you to have a future in Him. When we live with an understanding that God has you in mind all other things that we live through, whether good or bad, come to fruition when we believe in Him. The good news is this: nothing in your life is purposeless, you were rescued by God from death and been given life for the reason of brining glory to the God who redeemed you. You are no afterthought and God should not be one either.
