We all need our own perspective on the circumstances that we are faced with. We can’t rely on others to have perspective for us. Today, I want to share with you 1 truth and 2 actions we need to take from the Prophet Isaiah that will help us have a perspective that is uniquely our own.

For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: “Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread.
Isaiah 8:11-12 ESV
Truth: God’s strong hand is upon you
People forget this easily when life hits hard and things don’t seem to be going as smoothly or as easily as they envisioned. Just because your life is hard and your circumstances are grim, doesn’t mean that God’s hand is not on your life. In fact, the reason you are even sustaining is because God’s strong hand is on you. You are traversing a path that people without God cannot get through. How is that for perspective?
If you know truthfully that God is with and he is holding you, why should the circumstance you’re facing bother you? Yes, it may cause you to worry, you’re human, but don’t consider your circumstances the thing that counts you out. You’re in as long as God says you’re in. He created you and redeemed you so you can be his witness.
Action 1: Make Your Own Judgments
The quote from God starts, “Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy…” How about you look at the data that is laid out there before you and make your own judgement call on the situation. We see a lot of people trying to make judgments for us, telling us what to think, why we need to think a certain way. But honestly there’s not a lot of reason to take our queues from those people.
Let me tell you how this plays out in our lives. Somebody with a loud voice says, “xyz is a fake and abc person should pay for it.” You can insert any issue you want in the spot of “xyz” and insert any person in “abc.” Then what you see happening is a massive number of people following or unfollowing that loud voice or person ABC on social media or in the realm of public opinion as a result.
You are perfectly capable of making your own judgments, especially since you have the strong hand of God on you. So why don’t you make those judgment calls. There are plenty of people and things that have been victimized by the conspiracy theory mindset who actually need your friendship and/or your support. Have your own perspective and make your own judgment.
Action 2: Have No Fear
Who are you more afraid of, the things of this world or God? I ask that because most of us will say “God.” But in reality, we react fearfully to our circumstances or uncertainty. I know that and you know that because when we evaluation some of our actions, you will notice a pattern of risk-averseness in how we operate. That is to say that we start doing things like other people, so that we can mitigate the issues and things that we idolize in fear of. When we act in fear, we develop a herd mentality and that isn’t who you were created to be.
God tells Isaiah, “don’t fear what other people fear.” The reason he tells Isaiah that is because God’s strong hand is on Isaiah, and likewise, it is on you because of your faith in Jesus Christ. Put your trust in God and do not fear. Remember our savior, Jesus, he overcame sin and death when he was resurrected by the father on the third day.
Conclusion: Walk Your Own Path
When you remember the truth of where God’s hand is placed in your life, and you choose to make your own judgment calls and you exercise your ability to be fearless in your present circumstances, then you will undoubtedly walk your own path. It’s a path that God designed just for you. Yes, it may be hard at times, but God’s strong hand will sustain you and see you through.
I know many of you are going through a difficult season in life, but believe me when I tell you that you are not alone.
Prayer: Father in heaven, this message to Isaiah, when you called him to be your mouthpiece is so important to us today. You call us to follow you and proclaim your glory to the ends of the earth, and we want to do that. We know you created us for a reason and that our perspective is uniquely our own because you have placed us in the places we have walked for your purposes. Help us see that purpose and live bravely today. We pray these things in Jesus name. Amen.
