Houston – we’re praying for you and we’re here for you.

If you’ve opened any news site or social media site this weekend and this morning you will have found hundreds of articles depicting the damage and chaos caused by Hurricane Harvey in the greater Houston area. If you haven’t had a chance to do so yet, I recommend you scroll down the stories to read the cries for help, and begin to understand the dire circumstances of the situation. Most of all, I want you to understand and see how we have a role to play.

Then I urge you to pray, asking God for favor and relief. Ask God to bless the decisions and actions of leaders on the ground in Houston and the bravery of first and second responders. Then ask God to help us help our brothers and sisters who have been flooded out of their homes.

Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy.
When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me. (Psalm 86:6-7 NIV)

God hears you and me. God will hear you, when you talk to Him about Houston.
