When you don’t understand the way God had destined for you, you should go your way.
But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days. – Daniel 12:13 ESV
What if you are not given any direction in life and add shown a vision of where your life should culminate? How would you get there? Better yet, what do you have to do on your journey to that place? It is probably something you all thought about and have pondered when you were told you actually have a great future ahead of you. This passage, if you read it in its entirety (Daniel 11-12), is extremely difficult to understand. It is cryptic at best and nonsensical at worst. The conclusion of the passage is simple: you will have to live your life to find out. God tells Daniel to “go his way” and find what is coming to him. As scary as this sounds and as unfulfilling as it appears to be, the underlying tenet is that when Daniel lives his life in faith, he will go exactly where he needs to go to fulfill his mission for God. There are no directions for Daniel, just a promise: it will pay off exactly as we expect and you can expect to receive exactly what you pay in. Some of us are stuck on hold, or pause. Our life is not moving because we decide we will wait for an explanation or some supernatural sign. God have us a purpose. He gave us character. He gave us free will. He gave us a dream. We need to go our way in faith–believing that the way we will walk is exactly the path God intended for us. This is not without any caveats. We can’t be self destructive and expect to be walking faithfully in the God given dream within us. We will find ourselves in the path we choose to walk, so walk faithfully in the way you dreamed of.
