And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent,  for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” (Acts 18:10)

Have you ever been too timid to speak out for what you believe because the potential backlash from those beliefs? It doesn’t have to be about religion. Perhaps it was about a direction your company should take. Maybe, a decision your parents need to make. Or an activity your friends are engaging in. The Apostle Paul faced the same dilemma. In fact, Luke implies that God had to encourage Paul to have courage to stay the course–by preaching the gospel he had in his heart to share. God’s encouragement is twofold: He I’d with us; secondly, He has people you may not know about.

If God is with us, that alone should be reason enough for us to be brave and bold with doing what is right and the will of God. Other parts of scriptures say, “who can be against us?” There are songs we sing about this! That is exactly right–Good is always with us. As a result, we should never be afraid of doing what God called us to do. If that isn’t convincing enough, God says that He has “people.” I don’t know about you, but if you have people, you’re in a good spot in life. That means you have allies. That means you have connections. It means you have a network. If you have these things then you are usually living well in life. God has people. God has a network. God has connections. He says this is the reason you never need to be afraid.

I want to be clear: if you are wavering between speaking up and saying and doing the right things, then stop wavering because God is with you and He has people! That is our encouragement for every situation you hesitate or fear facing.
