Have you ever thought to yourself, “I’m not good enough because….” God says to us, “We are good enough because I am your God.”

And he said to him, “Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” (Judges 6:15 ESV)

The story of Gideon is much like our own. He frequently doubted his calling and place in life because he didn’t see himself as good enough. He had good reasons too. He was the youngest son in the family, from the “weakest” family in the “smallest” tribe of Israel. He knew what was stacked against him to become what God already saw him as. Gideon had some serious self doubt. He had excuses to why he couldn’t possibly be what God said he was even when God sent an angel to tell Gideon exactly what he was in God’s eyes.

Just imagine giving yourself excuses when God is in front of you telling you exactly who you are meant to be. Wait, you don’t have to imagine that because you and I have done that. God tells us that we are His children, whom He loves, and we keep telling him, “no, you don’t love us even though you sent Jesus to show us that you love us.”  We’re too old to be playing this game with God.

In fact, today, let us redefine how we see ourselves. Let us see ourselves how God sees us. Let us live the way God sees us living, doing the things God envisions us doing. We have immense value and have a great purpose. Let’s believe it and live it today.
