If people realized that salvation is not bridled with stipulations, would more people choose to believe in Jesus as our Savior? I want to say, “yes”.

“We believe and are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they are.” (Acts 15:11 GNB)

There were Jewish believers in the church that told new non Jewish believers they were required to follow Jewish laws and customs even though weren’t born Jewish. In fact these non Jewish believers were from Greek houses. Not all Jewish believers of Christ were telling their non Jewish brothers and sisters this, only a subset of them. Being saved by Jesus is not a call to renounce who you are and were born into. Rather, being saved by Jesus is accepting God into your life because you want God to be a part of it. And without God intervening in the form and likeness of Jesus, He wouldn’t be a part of your life. It has nothing to do with rituals and customs you were never born into or traditions that you couldn’t uphold even if you wanted to. The beauty of being saved by the grace of Jesus is that God did all the work and heavy lifting. All you need to do is believe and keep yourself from “un-believing.” In fact, “unbelieving” is simply acting against what you believe despite knowing better. If we are truly saved by the grace of Jesus Christ in His life, death, and resurrection, then we should accept that fully believing that everything we do will support our belief in His saving grace.
