It will be said on that day,     “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.     This is the Lord; we have waited for him;     let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” – Isaiah 25:9 –

God, as a word, is simple with only three letters. God, as an idea, is interesting because He cannot be fathomed. God, as a being, is amazing because He keeps on saving despite us. The Prophet Isaiah writes about “that day” which is the day God saves and nothing else matters in life– that is the day we know that “this” work can only be from our God. Let me paint you the picture of why I’m concluding this, as Isaiah concluded over 3,000 years ago. He was living in a time where cities were nothing more than heaps of ruins. He was looking at a world where the poor, distressed, and disenfranchised were at their wits end. There was no more to hope for. There was nothing to look forward to. There was only death that awaited people, and unfortunately, they couldn’t even look forward to that because it would be a hard time trying to die and even then, their misery would continue. Isaiah saw his world as being eaten alive with death and destruction. You could say he was living in hell. I don’t know about you, but the world Isaiah lived in 3,000 years ago is similar to the world we live in now. Sure, we have the internet, cable TV, and mobile devices which allows us to connect to the hell that we’re living in more quickly and intimately; but, the condition of humanity is the same. God saves us from ourselves, from our humanity. God wipes the tears from our faces, and shelters us against the storm of life. God has swallowed death forever in the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, and has given us salvation. What we did, what we do, what we will do means little to the God who saves those waiting for Him. This is our God. Wait for Him and He will save you.
