Sometimes we are so ungrateful. We act like we aren’t even saved by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. This Christmas season, we need to walk with thanksgiving in Jesus, our King and Savior.
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7)
This nativity season I want all of us to be cognizant of exactly why we go out of our way to celebrate. We are not celebrating increased sales. We are not celebrating parties. We are not celebrating the receiving of gifts. What we are celebrating this season is Jesus Christ walking with us and amongst us to save us. We celebrate thankfully knowing that we are justified in faith. We live established in Jesus Christ and we rejoice through every single moment of how awesome it is to be saved by a savior who loves more than we can ever imagine. When the people in the holidays have you going crazy, give thanksgiving to Jesus. When the people in your path have you rot with curses, give thanksgiving to Jesus. When your family is about to make you do something you know you’ll regret within a few minutes, give thanksgiving to Jesus. We all need to be more thankful this holiday. Remember that this holiday was created so that we can walk with thanksgiving at what Jesus did and is doing in our lives.
