Did you have a “Where’s Waldo?” book growing up? I had one. But I’ve always had a hard time finding Waldo. I was so bad at finding Waldo that I just stopped trying to find Waldo. I needed a break from looking for Waldo in the craziness of the page and refresh my eyes to see Waldo for what he was dressed in.

For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord… (Proverbs 8:35 ESV)

Luckily for us, finding wisdom, God’s wisdom, is a lot easier than finding Waldo. God’s wisdom is Jesus. We know it is Jesus because in John 1:4, the gospel writer says in “Jesus there is life!” It is echoed here in the Proverbs. Finding Jesus should be easy, but it can feel like we are stuck in a bad episode of Where’s Waldo because of all the distractions and all of the false positives.

So how can we find Jesus today if He is the source of life? We need to reset our lives. Stop getting distracted by chores, to dos, work, relationships and reset all those things by looking for Jesus in Sabbath. This is not going out for leisure or activities or vacation, but finding quiet and making space for Jesus. When you make space for Jesus you will find life and favor in everything you do and experience.
