The pursuit of true love, our passion, is the reason God created us and shaped our lives for. The problem is that life often gets in the way of our pursuit of that love and passion. In fact, I bet that very few of us still pursue what we love, what we are passionate for.
When have you stopped pursuing your passion? When you started dating that girl? When you got that promotion at work? When you started finding other interferences like drugs and alcohol to numb you? When your passions became harder to pursue?
I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. (Revelation 2:3-4 ESV)
If you want a truly meaningful life, you need to return to your first true love and passion. It’s great that despite life and all the crazy things in your life you still believe God created you and loved you enough to save you; but, it’s not acceptable that we let life derail us from the reason God created us in the first place. We all have these amazing passions when we dig deep enough. It is a shame that the world doesn’t get to witness our pursuit of those passions.
I believe that if we, as God’s chosen people, would comeback to pursue our passions, our true loves, then the world would drastically change. Return to the love you had at first, let that be your worship to God every single moment of every single day.
